Boyle Abbey is a well preserved 12th century Cistercian Monastery in the centre of Boyle in County Roscommon. It was used to accommodate a military garrison in the 17th and 18th centuries, but nevertheless continues to impress visitors. It also houses an exhibition while guided tours are also available and they last 40 minutes.

The Castlestrange Scribed Stone is an oval-shaped, sculptured standing stone dating from the early Iron Age. Unlike several other similar boulders across the country this stone is engraved with Celtic style ornament, rather than being carved in relief.

Although the 13th century Roscommon Castle is now in ruins, it remains a sight of great drama with its magnificent double towered entrance gate and rounded bastions. The castle is positioned on a hillside just outside the centre of Roscommon and is based around a quadrangular shape.
