Lying just three miles outside the town is Blennerville Windmill, perhaps Tralee’s most photographed object. Constructed in 1800, the windmill was restored to its former glory some ten years ago and now contains an emigration exhibition centre, an audiovisual theatre and a number of craft workshops. The windmill opens each day for viewings between the months of April and October.

Located within Ashe Memorial Hall on Denny Street, Kerry the Kingdom uses videos, displays, photographs and mannequins dressed in period clothing to give a view of life in County Kerry during the last 7,000 years. Covering the county’s music, history, legends, archaeology, and even sport, Kerry the Kingdom is a highly acclaimed visitor centre.

Running between Tralee’s Ballyard Station and Blennerville, the steam train uses equipment that once formed part of the Tralee and Dingle Light Railway, which operated between 1891 and 1953. Covering a three kilometre stretch the steam train runs most days from May through to October.
