Fungie the local dolphin has become a Dingle celebrity. The keeper of the Dingle lighthouse first saw the bottlenosed dolphin escorting fishing boats out to sea and then back again after their voyage back in 1984. Since then he has essentially become a domesticated wild dolphin, loving direct human contact. Visitors can see Fungie by boats, or even arrange an early-morning dolphin swim.
