Cavan County Museum is located in magnificent 19th century building in Ballyjamesduff. It houses artefacts from around Cavan from the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age and Medieval periods, with exhibits including the pre-Christian Killycluggin Stone and the 1,000 year old Lough Errol Canoe.

Running from Leitrim Way at Dowra and the Ulster Way at Blacklion village, the Cavan Way is a beautiful walking path following the route of the source of the Shannon River. Passing through forested areas, ancient tombs and monuments, the beautiful scenery attracts walkers in droves. The Cavan Way passes along 26 kilometres of footpaths, moorlands and quiet roads.
Cloughoughter Castle

Standing on a tiny island in the middle of Lough Oughter is Cloughoughter Castle. Constructed during the 13th century, it may be of modest size, but has a long and prominent history. Work began on the castle in 1200 and continued for approximately 24 years while parts were demolished in the 17th century.
Drumlane Monastic Site

Enjoying an idyllic setting between Lakes Drumlane and Derrybrick, the remains of the 13th century church can be seen to this day, as can the Round Tower. Situated in the village of Milltown, the Drumlane Monastic site is thought to have been built in the 6th century under St Mogue and it takes up a picturesque position in County Cavan.
St. Kilian's Heritage Centre

The Saint Kilian Heritage Centre charts the life of St. Kilian, a 7th century missionary born in Mullagh who was martyred. Using audiovisual presentations and displays, it also details the development of the Irish church and Gaelic script. There is also a craft shop and a tea room with homemade items at the heritage centre in Mullagh.
